  2. Welcome to Thomas Warfield's Pretty Good Solitaire 99!

  4. Pretty Good Solitaire 99 is a collection of 300 solitaire
  5. games, from classic games like Klondike, FreeCell, and
  6. Spider, to 28 original games invented especially for
  7. the program. 
  8.  
  9. Some tips and tricks to remember:
  10.  
  11. 1) To play a particular game, click on its name on the
  12. main screen.
  13.  
  14. 2) To see the rules for a particular game, press F1 or
  15. click on the help (question mark) button.
  16.  
  17. 3) The game that comes with Windows is called Klondike.
  18. Another familiar game is FreeCell.  The other most 
  19. popular games are Aces and Kings, Australian Patience,
  20. Demons and Thieves, Eight Off, Forty Thieves, Penguin,
  21. Pyramid, Scorpion, Spider, and Yukon.  If you have
  22. trouble deciding what game to play, clicking on the
  23. random game button chooses one of the games at random.

  25. 4)  In most games, the cards can be moved by drag and 
  26. drop.  A quick way to move cards is to right click on
  27. the card you want to move.  If there is a legal move
  28. for this card, Pretty Good Solitaire will make the move.
  29.  
  30. 5) When you exit a game, the game position is saved 
  31. until the next time you play that game.  When you start
  32. that game again, your saved game is played back ready 
  33. for you to continue.

  35. 6) Detailed statistics are kept for each game, including
  36. your score, the game number, and date/time when you
  37. played.  You can submit your statistics and have them
  38. posted on the Pretty Good Solitaire web site along with 
  39. other users top scores. Each game has a top scores list!

  47. FOR WINDOWS 3.1 USERS --
  48. Pretty Good Solitaire 99 is a 32-bit program for Windows
  49. 95/98/NT.  It will not run under Windows 3.1.  A 16-bit
  50. program that has many of the same features as this
  51. program, Pretty Good Solitaire 2.3, is also available.

  55. Pretty Good Solitaire 99 requires at least NT 4.0 Service
  56. Pack 3.

  61. This program is shareware, try-before-you-buy software.
  62. Continued use of Pretty Good Solitaire beyond the 30-day
  63. evaluation period requires registration.  Registration 
  64. will bring you instructions on how to get rid of the
  65. registration reminder screens and other benefits
  66. (see the help file). Some features of this program will 
  67. be disabled after the 30 day trial period and you must
  68. register to continue use.  The 30 day trial period is
  69. calculated based on days that the program is actually
  70. used.  A day only counts in the total if the program has

  112. -- UPGRADE FROM PRETTY GOOD SOLITAIRE 97/98 --
  113. Registered users of Pretty Good Solitaire 97 and 98 can
  114. upgrade to this version for free.  If Pretty Good 
  115. Solitaire 99 detects a registered version of PGS98 on
  116. your system, it will transfer your settings and statistics
  117. to Pretty Good Solitaire 99. From that point, the programs 
  118. will be independent and PGS98 can be deleted.

  120. PGS97 registration information (name, address,
